Why do you love photography?
It’s humbling. The landscape of photography is so wide and so deep that to say you mastered photography is next to impossible. There’s always something to learn — and I love that.
What’s your favorite photo?
It’s a black and white photo I took of a dear friend back when I was shooting in film. It was completely candid (she was fixing her hair), yet somehow the image reflected the energy and calmness that I couldn’t have accomplished had it been shot any other way.
Is photography your full time job?
Nope. I’m also a graphics and web designer for the PGA TOUR. Photography is my creative outlet and passion. Since I love fine art and technology, photography has given me both and I’m very fortunate and blessed to have discovered this passion early on. I know many who are still looking.
What’s your favorite lens?
The Canon 35L f/1.4 — hands down. It’s light, doesn’t draw a lot of attention to itself, and produces some incredibly beautiful photos. If I had to shoot an entire wedding with just one lens, this would be it.
How did you get into photography?
My father gave me his old Twin-Lens Reflex (TLR) camera and a couple rolls of film when I was in college. After taking a couple of courses in black and white photography and experiencing the whole darkroom process the rest was history.
