JRB STUDIOS, LLC was founded in 2009 by two like-minded Jacksonville natives: Ronnell Bryant and Jireh Rodriguez. Both shared a common interest in photography and both aspired to elevate their God-given talents into a medium that inspires positivity and captures moments.
JRB Studios specializes in event photography. The landscape of photography is as wide as it is deep. While the technicalities may be the same, having the creative vision to photograph children versus photographing architecture are widely different. So rather than being a Jack of all trades we focus our energy towards being great at event photography. It’s this kind of photography we are passionate about and what we tailor our equipment for.
We believe in photographing with purpose. Every event has a story to tell and as event photographers we have an important obligation to retell these stories with photos.
We believe that the best photos are those left unscripted and that unfold naturally. We love candid photography so in addition to understanding all the technicalities, techniques and creative vision we are also part time ninjas with editorial motives.
We believe that the combination of technical ability, creativity, and meaningful content defines good photography; not just Photoshop.
We believe in doing something you love. There’s an old saying that if you do something you love you never work a day in your life. Well, the truth of the matter is we all work in some fashion. It is a fact of life. Now whether you love doing it is what makes the difference!
Do you travel?
Definitely.
Where is your studio?
The nature of our work (event photography) is on-site based and does not require a “studio” in the traditional sense. Where we shoot is our studio. Practically speaking, lower overhead means additional savings to our clients. But that isn’t to say down the road we may expand to studio-type work (we’re quite fond of food photography!)
Do you shoot full time?
At the moment no. Weddings and events generally occur during weekends and holidays — days which we are willing to invest our time in order to pursue our passions in photography.
Did you receive any formal training in photography?
1% college, 19% under a mentor, 80% complete obsession of real world experience that go beyond the books.
What cameras do you shoot with?
We shoot with Canon professional bodies and lenses including “L” prime lenses that range from 14mm to 300mm. Our gear is specifically tailored to event photography and we take our gear very seriously. If the photo comes out horribly we know it’s not because of the equipment.
Are you accepting interns?
Not at this time. We do, however, have random photography shoots to test new lighting equipment and to continually sharpen and focus (pun not intended) our skills. Send us a note and we’ll let you know when we have another session.
Do you offer photography for non-profits and charities?
Yes. We believe in giving back wherever we can and support those who help others. We offer discounted programs specifically for these types of events. Please contact us for details.
Do you offer on-site printing?
Yes. We can shoot and print 4×6 and 5×7 photos during your event. All prints are printed with commercial grade printers on tear-resistant photo paper. This is a great way to provide guests with a nice take-home.
Do you provide video services?
No. We know our limits and quite frankly video is a completely different animal than still photography.
Can you make sure my double chin doesn’t show up on photos?
We get asked this quite often. Don’t worry, we feel the same way when we get our photos taken. We’ll make sure to use the right angles and the correct footing that’ll take off 10 lbs instantly.
